Ontario Fishing Club of the Deaf Ice Fishing
  1. ELIGIBLE SPECIES: Walleye & Perch (Release slot size). 3 Walleye under 18” and 1 over 18” inches or 4 under 18” limit (MNR Regulations).
  2. Official Fishing Tournament for registration will be in cash $15.00 per angler.
  3. All participants will abide by Ontario Fishing Regulations. A valid fishing license is required to take part in the OFCD Ice Fishing Tournament.
  4. If you leave your hole unattended for a distance of more than 60 ft. (distance of 2 holes), you have to remove your line from the hole (no exceptions).
  5. A participant breaking any of the tournament rules and/or any applicable Ontario laws will be disqualified with no refund of entry fee.
  6. There is no minimum age for participants, however all minors (18 and under) must be with a parent or a guardian at all times during the tournament and both must be paid participants.
  7. The tournament is scheduled for Saturday February 21st, 2009 from 9:30am noon to 6:00pm on Lake Scugog. In the event of very cold temperatures and before starting time, we will announce that the tournament will be shortened by one hour and ending at 5pm. 
  8. Prizes for Walleye is determined by total weight and time registered. In the event of a tie, the first fish registered wins. For example, if three 3lb Walleye are the largest fish entered in the tournament, the one registered earliest will take 1st place. The fish entered next will take 2nd place and the one registered the latest will take 3rd place.  If still tied, the participant having registered the earliest will win. All fish are counted in each weight/time category starting from the largest registered and then proceeding down to the smallest.
  9. Prizes for perch will be determined based on inches. Total perch caught are measured to determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes. In case of tie angler who registered first shall win.
  10. If a participant is caught giving a fish to another participant, both participants will be disqualified.
  11. If a participant is caught fishing more than two lines (Two lines max) he/she will be disqualified.
  12. Participants may drill their own holes. If you do not have an auger OFCD will drill holes for you.
  13. All fish entered must be brought to the OFCD Judges stand on foot immediately and alive. Dead or frozen fish are disqualified. OFCD Judges will have the right to verify that fish were legally caught. The judges’ decision is final. Bring a container partly filled with water to carry the live fish to the weigh station.  If you want to keep fish caught to bring home OFCD Judges will use punch hole to make hole in fish gills. If you do not have cooler OFCD will have one available for you.
  14. Participants must fish in the area designated for the tournament or be visible from the OFCD Judges site.
  15. You are responsible for your safety and actions at all times: before, during and after the tournament.
  16. Please do not litter. Garbage barrels will be placed throughout the fishing area. Use them! This is your resource: take care of it!
  17. All rules are subject to the interpretation of the OFCD Ice Fishing Tournament Board.
  18. By entering the tournament, all participants declare having an understanding of all tournament rules and agree to abide by them.
  19. Leader Boards will be located at OFCD Judge’s stand.
